Art in Nature

I was recently Artist in Residence with six other women artists from Cornwall at Lanjeth nursery and water gardens. This self-directed Residency was an opportunity for us to spend time in the beautiful gardens, making work in response to the place. It was an opportunity to step outside my normal daily routine and practice and work somewhere different. To work en plein air, immersed in lush green woodland and next to streams and ponds. 

We loved meeting visitors, chatting about what we do and hopefully inspiring others to get creative. A few of us offered workshops during our stay, and we held an exhibition of the work we made during the Residency at the end of our stay. We also held a raffle of original art works in support of Lanjeth's Growing People CIC, and gave a percentage of sales, raising £270 for the charity. On 5 April, Tamsin and I were interviewed about the project on BBC Radio Cornwall for the Country Matters segment.
